Equipping Conservative Candidates to Lead
The 1848 Project believes that who is elected to office matters. Whether at the local, state, or national level, we all feel the impact of quality governance. Conversely, poor leadership causes suffering, as many are experiencing currently. This is because ideas have consequences. That is why the 1848 Project is equipping Wisconsin's conservative candidates with solid policy ideas, rooted in conservative principles, through policy papers, webinars, interviews, social media, and a candidate-only forum.
But you do not have to run for office to access our treasure trove of resources. We hope this newsletter gives you a small taste of the investment our team is making to help conservative candidates cross the finish line.
Happy Independence Day!

The Leader's Toolbox Series
We are bringing candidates and newly elected officials together with state leaders through webinars. Here, Sen. Dale Kooyenga speaks with school board members and other elected officials about education funding issues such as:
- How the school funding formula works.
- The truth on where the $ goes.
- Who makes what happen: the state's role? the school board's role?
- What are the opportunities before us?
Find Sen. Kooyenga's slide deck here.

Policy Papers
The 1848 Project's Founder, Rebecca Kleefisch, compiled the Forward Agenda in response to hearing from many Wisconsinites who were willing to share their greatest hopes and concerns for our state. We have continued her work by writing policy "1-pagers" for candidates as they develop conservative policy proposals.
Our policy papers fall into these categories:
- Protecting the Public
- Economic Growth & Our Workforce
- Education Reform
- Healthcare
- Reforming Big Government
- Election Reform
- Protecting Constitutional Rights & Values
See our website for the full catalog of downloadable 1-pagers.
